El Poaig only produces excellent quality oils which is why the number of bottles varies from harvest to harvest depending on climate factors and technical criteria of excellence.
Supreme quality extra virgin olive oil produced from millennia-old Farga olive trees from the Mediterranean coastal region of El Maestrat, situated between sea level and an altitude of 500 meters. A greenish-yellow colour with an intense fruity aroma, green olives, freshly cut grass, floral tones, orange blossom, nuts, orange leaf, artichoke and almond. A harmonious taste, one that is sweet with an immediate onset of light bitter tones accompanied with a mild spiciness which denotes the variety. Complex flavours, grapefruit, liquorice, blackberry shoots. Well-rounded in the mouth with a finishing flavour of fresh almonds and a lengthy, green and fresh aftertaste. Since the 2019/2020 harvest, a small yield of 300 units of age-old oil has been ecologically bottled, becoming the world's first environmentally-friendly oil from millennia-old olive trees. This small yield is due to the difficulty of certifying olive trees which are set apart from each other within a radius of around 45 kilometres across the whole region. Every year we certify a few more trees to be ecological. The difficulty is that they are trees scattered throughout the territory.
In a normal year we produce about 2000 bottles, and from each tree approximately 10 l of oil are extracted.

Four varieties make up the soul of this organic extra virgin olive oil with character. The name refers to a subjective impression that our master oil maker Manuel Arnau obtains every year from nine varieties, choosing four to continue surprising our friends at El Poaig with the "idea" of green beyond colour. In the 2019/2020 harvest these varieties that make up the "assemblage" are Alfafarenca, Canetera, Picual and Arbequina.
Among them the Canetera, an endangered variety with a high polyphenolic load and highly recommended properties for health, always has a place if the oil extracted is considered excellent. Intense green colour, coming from olive trees between sea level and 700 metres altitude with intense fruity aroma, freshly cut grass, flowers, aromatic herbs, soft bitterness, light spiciness. Fluid, Citrus aromas, apple, nuts and almonds. Fig, artichoke and tomato stand out. In the mouth it has a sweet and balanced entrance. Slightly bitter notes appear with a gentle spicy finish. Long in nuances. Annual production between 2800 - 5000 bottles depending on climatic factors, quality and excellence.
